What would a perfect MMO need, and what would greatly add to its..good...
Quite curious about what im going to see here. What would a perfect MMO need, and what would greatly add to its..good...
What more MMOGs need?
-Actual role-playing. (Admitted, I've heard that a few, such as EVE Online, actually have just that.)
-FPS-style combat, or something other than hitting a number key to engage auto-attack. (WWII Online and PlanetSide are just MMOFPSs, without any real role-playing. Games like EVE, on the other hand, lack actual piloting of the spacecraft itself. Would it have been too much to let me fly my spacecraft Independence War-style while taking part in some actual role-playing?)
Those are the two big ones, really. What would a perfect MMO need, and what would greatly add to its..good...
Unforgiving PVP.MMORPGs shouldn't be made for children, they should offer some real intense combat, no matter what the cost. I love PVP, and I love how the Warhammer MMORPG is looking right now.No instances.Oooh, it's so hard to get epixx. Yeah, so what, work for it.More rewards.Everyone should get rewards, not just the guy that rolls the highest, sure, everyone shouldn't get epic items, but maybe something like ''this item gives +0.1 stamina permanently when used'' or whatever. Worse items, but more of them.I have more, I just can't think of it now. I will be posting more.
Perfect MMO would have no ''Fair play'' in terms of obtainable power ... what a crappy concept, no level limits , skill levels or anything like that ... then you see the real heros and villians ... theyre not scripts theyre players. No safety (well ok newbie area) lots of secret spots (You can sorta claim .. not officially but just hang around there or kill peopel for it)Very good tradeskills (Near impossible to max, like FF and Ultima ... making people truly Tradeskil lcharacters, not tradeskills being an extension).WoW and Everquest took away these great features... for whiners that wanted to be equal  removing all the sense of character development and Roleplaying ... FOR TEH EEQUALZ STATZ!
Oh yeah, one more. The game should end after about a year, every server should be wiped. No matter how you make the game it can't last forever. Games like World of Warcraft are fun 1-60, but when you get there it's really repetitive, if it would end and just reset your character there would be replayability. Sure, WoW isn't a good example, noone would want to do that twice, but if you design the game to be a game that ends after a while, it could be great.Let's say when it ends, there's a scoreboard or something. You get on the scoreboard as a result of the things that you do in the game in one year, whatever it is, PVP, PVE, exploration (I haven't thought that through), fame and whatever.
a way to be sure no one under 18 can play it. and actual in game admins not 'petition' systems where you may ormay not hear from someone in the next week or so.a huge bump in quality customer service and a way to get a handel on not letting kids play and i sign up. hell with those two things id sign up for a checkers MMO :D
