Hi. Okay here is my situation. While waiting for more interesting Wii cames to come out I'd like to try one of the of the Tom Clancy games. The choices are between Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. I believe those are the lastest one in those series that are out if not please correct.I should be able to run them pretty well I think. I'm running the following. I ran a test on http://www.systemrequirementslab.com. with Ghost Recon I'm above the recommended but with the other two I'm below it but only because one has a recommended ram of 2gig and the other of 1.5 gig but I'm toping the other things that are tested.Anyway I'm curious as to which one is best (I know this will differ between people but could you explain why you think your choice is the best out of the three)?Which of the games is easier for a beginner to get into?Which has the more interesting online multiplayer? Is voice needed or can one get away with just listening and typing really fast?Which has the best single player? Which single player storyline is the longest?Which one is supported more and gets more updates?I've played FPS before but never with any seriousness to be honest. Usually console FPS from Golden Eye to Metroid Prime and the ocasional PC one if I get a demo of it but don't care for horror to much so I haven't bothered with Doom or Quake or Unreal after the first one. They really aren't my game ****of choice (I'm more into RPGs and RTS) especailly on the PC but really love how these games look and since I'm not going to get those graphics on a Wii and I don't want to buy another console and I just updated my PC I want to try one out and hopefully gain a liking to it so that I'll continue to follow it in later games (that way I have more reasons to keep updating my system and not let it lag again).Thanks.Edit: Or should I maybe play one of the previous games in the above series or another serious all together? Not against that if another can be recommended. Thanks.Help on deciding on a Tom Clancy game. Want to pick up one of the three.
Best one to get straight into would be rainbow six vegas. I was blown back by that one.Help on deciding on a Tom Clancy game. Want to pick up one of the three.
I agree go with Vegas you wont be disappointed, its a lot of fun to play and its easy to pick up
Anyway I'm curious as to which one is best (I know this will differ between people but could you explain why you think your choice is the best out of the three)?
Well, in my opinion, the one that offers a good single player/multiplayer features is R6: Vegas. The story isn't bad, and it's rather interesting, and the gameplay is a bit arcade-style, not so much tactical or stealth. However, the game has some bugs and sometimes it's a bit troublesome with multiplayer games.
Which of the games is easier for a beginner to get into?
I think the easier is R6: Vegas, mainly because it gives you the skill to get cover (like in Gears of War), and because you're playing with PC it will be by far easier to target enemies, even if you're a bit overwhelmed.
Which has the more interesting online multiplayer? Is voice needed or can one get away with just listening and typing really fast?
I haven't tested the Double Agent in multiplayer, so I cannot tell you anything about it. And also with Advanced Warfighter 2, but I've played with the first one, and it's quite funny. You have multiplayer maps which you can play in coop-mode and are like missions in single player, only that your friends will be your team-members. The problem with this is that if you're killed, you don't respawn. In R6: Vegas, you have typical multiplayer maps, like in Advanced Warfighter, and also cooperative maps that will let you play the single player campaign with your friends. The deathmatch maps are to kill all the terrorists, or between your friends. It's quite funny, but what I said before, sometimes you will find problems like the program stops, and shutdown.
Which has the best single player?
Well, that depends on every player, but in my opinion I enjoyed much more with R6: Vegas than Double Agent. With Advanced Warfighter 2, I cannot say anything.
Which single player storyline is the longest?
Hmmm I believe that Double Agent has a longest storyline, but I'm unsure.
Which one is supported more and gets more updates?
Don't know of the three, but I'm pretty sure that R6: Vegas is the worst supported, because of the bugs it has.
Pick up Rainbow 6 Raven Shield Gold Edition.Should be $10 and has all the expansions. The BEST Rainnbow 6 EVER.With the rest of your cash - its up to you ;)
Thanks. Does anyone else have any advice or suggestions? Also how about Half-Life 2 or Stalker? How is that in terms of the questions I asked above? Thanks.
Vegas is a brilliant game.

half life 2 is a great game, im actually reinstalling it right now as i type this im gonna play through it again haha
Half Life 2 is one of the best games ever.. Get Half life 2 and Stalker is fun and all but it is way different than all the other FPS games out it is like an rpg. The guns you get in the beginning of the game are lame and it makes it really hard until you get a stalker suit both of those games are worth getting especially Half Life 2 it is a must have game and needs to be bought by every pc gamer. Oh, Tom Clancy game hmm... Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter..
Rainbow Six Vegas by far.
Rainbow Six Vegas. If you want to go with Splinter Cell, i'd suggest Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory instead.
i think ud be disapointed with the older rainbowsix games as there older gfx etc, u need to be a huge fan if u want those, so id say vegas. its new the gfx are great, nice story line and great weapons. Good Game.

Do not get Double Agent for the PC. It is poorly optimized and runs like crap even on high end systems. Go with vegas or raven shield as suggested above.I have played Half Life 2 and Stalker both. Half Life 2 is more linear and it can get a bit boring towards the end. However there is a lot of value and great game play within Half Life 2. Tons of free mods.Stalker with it's recent patches runs better and it's more open ended than half life 2. There's tons of quests and multiple endings. You won't be dissapointed with either choice. You can get Half Life 2 + Episode one for 25$ at steampowered.com
Thanks everyone. If anyone else cares to add to this please do so. Perheps it can help someone else as well and help with the decision making process. What are you feelings on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 1?
If you want Splinter cell, wait until the new one comes out. Conviction I beleive. Rainbox 6 Vegas is the way to go.
Well before you threw in Half Life 2 in there, I'd say get GRAW2, but after you asked about HL2, I say get HL2 first and foremost.
I measure games by their stories, so Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
