I am not, I find its not worth the cash for the bang but thats my 2 centsQUESTION for PC gamers...
the only game they're talking about so far is Shadowrun right?
And halo 2, but halo is over rated to me so im sticking out of live for pc T.T
Out of 10.000 .. Maybe 100.
After trying the 1 month free trial that came with shadowrun? NEVER ... pile of crap .. ''Trueskill Match Making system'' ... yea thanks for taking about 5 minutes to find a game ... -.-
Ya, I cant justify the price. Not only that, but if it aint broke, dont fix it....and there is nothing broken with Counterstrike, BF2, Joint Ops, etc browsers.Honestly I see it as an attempt by Micrsoft to dumb down PC games to the same level as many console games (no offense intended, its just a view many PC gamers share).
I don't even have vista.
Don't have Vista and anyways, who thought playing against console users was something PC gamers wanted anyway? :/
online gaming with windows live is free unless you want to play xbox 360 players with a handicap :(
online gaming with windows live is free unless you want to play xbox 360 players with a handicap :(
yea, true. Its free, unless you wanna play 360 people, and who would want to play against a console player?
Oh I dunno I think playing against a 360 player would be kinda neat.If it were free, that is.
If it were just GFW Live, then probably not. I'm not interested in any current game with GFW Live support.
However, I do have the old Xbox, and I am paying an Xbox Live Gold account for that system. That also conveniently nets me a GFW Live Gold account on the side.
kind of what i thought people would say. just curious. oh and no offense taken on the console vs pc thing. i actually have a keyboard mouse set up i use to play Resistance. so i feel you. just wanted to see if there was even a real demand for this from pc gamers. kind of what i already thought. if it ain't broke don't fix it i suppose.
Yeah, based on what I've read, the Gold version of GFW - Live seems rather worthless. The matchmaking features aren't really that useful, and the only reason I can imagine you'd want to play with Xbox players (aside from the novelty, of course) is if the online community for a certain game happened to be larger on Xbox (Halo 2, for example). Essentially, you're still getting around having to buy a console to play the game, so I can't say it's totally unreasonable that they would charge some amount of money to join the community, and $5 a month isn't exactly going to break the bank anyway.
I won't pay unless many good cross platform games come out, a racing would be easy cross platfom. I dont think balance would be a problem. But really its not worth it to pay unless you have a 360 and live or want live for the 360 since you can use your 360 account to play on windows live AFAIK.
No. Why would I want to play against console gamers anyway?
Yes most games are free, MMOs usually pay though. As for GFW Live atm there is not even a slight chance I'll get it because I don't have shadorwrun (or want it) and don't have vista(or want it). Should a game come out that is good enough for me to get vista and also requires GFW live it may change. Crysis won't be GFW and I don't think Alan Wake has MP so I think maybe late 2008 or 2009 before it even becomes a consideration. And when it does become a consideration as razor says do I want to play against console gamers when chances are the controls for the mouse will be altered to compete with the controller (I mostly play fps games online)
the only games i've ever played online on my PC were either fps or rpg (and i admit i had City of Heroes  ). but i mainly play Resistance online now anyway so it's been a few months since i've played online with my PC. just was curious if things were still free (besides subscription specific games like MMOs) or if they were already charging. wanted to know what people were feeling cause i've read a lot about GFW-LIVE but hadn't heard anything from any actual PC gamers. just Microsoft's opinions on what PC gamers want. lol.
Xfire does everything id ever want from XBL...and its free.
