Do you have to pay to play WoW?

I just got it yesterday. It has one month free gaming. So, how much is it a month once the free period is over?Do you have to pay to play WoW?
$14.99 a month if you pay month to month. You get a slight discount if you pay every 3 months or once a year.Didnt it give you the prices when you created your account?Do you have to pay to play WoW?
$14.99 a month
And it aint worth it.
there's servers you can play on for free (I don't know if they're legal) but there's only like 200 people online at once on most of those (i think).
And it aint worth it.
Yea I must admit the game IS fun but the monthly fee is what got me to stop. Thats basically giving up a free used game every single month. Guild Wars is not that fun and long lasting but if you cant afford or just think that 15 dollars/month is too much (like me) its a GREAT alternative. It also doesntrequire that strong of a computer.
Thought so. I wouldn't really want to play on one anyways, considering I found out about them way after quitting WoW, and 90% of WoW's fun comes from the number of people you play with.. it's not like the core gameplay is any fun most of the time.

Yeah you have to pay for it, in the UK i think it about ?9 every 2 months.
I see the blizz haters have got in first. You can get prepaid cards cheap here and there if you look around. Is it worth it, well it is an experience yes, but eventually you may get bored. At the moment I pay for just doing end-game instances at the moment, but I guess also for keeping in touch with guildmates. There is no such thing as a free lunch these days. The haters obviously will tell you one side, the lovers the other side, im in the middle try it out for your 1 month then see where it goes from there.

I played for 3 months(one free), I liked it, but didn't want to pay the monthly fee, so I stopped. It was fun to try out though.

No what I'm saying is, WoW isn't worth 15 bucks a month. It's extremely limited, the worst community known to man, takes ridiculously amount of time %26 grind to get your 'uber' gear or whatever the hell they call it. I'm not talking weeks but months of 8 hour play each %26 every day.

I found the game fun for the first 60 levels but then it got boring and I started to notice the gaping hole that the monthly fee was making in my wallet. I just didn't bother getting the Expansion Pack. But for the first 5 months when the game came out, I had the most fun gaming on a computer.
WoW is like Drug to me
My first MMO, great game, lots of variety, huge community, well worth the money imo.
I'm currently in the process of leveling, and I think the game is fun so far. But beware, I have had friends that got bored with the game once they got to level 70.I say the $14.99 is worth it at least until you reach level 70.
get guild wars. one time fee, low req. for awesome graphics, 10 very different unique classes with their own play style and everything... the list could go on and on, and without having to continually feed money to those greedy game developers, i think its an easy choice...

I think that anybody could have fun from 1-60/70. Yeah basically like always, the first 5 months is the greatest (coming from a former SWG player who was completely addicted for the first few months then quit) I did about the same with my WoW character except I stayed to raid for about 8 more months of so then I left.Edit: Person above me- if you think guild wars has ''awesome'' graphics, then you are delusional.
