Getting tired of FPS, Guild Wars?

Hey everyone, I generally don't make topics but lately I've been getting tired of playing my old FPS's that have been my stand bys for years. I've been playing CS since 1.3 and off and on with Rainbow games and dabbling of everything in between. Now I'm thinking of getting into something where I can level and have fun with a clan again. I've heard great things about GW and was thinking of giving it a try... some questions about it:1. How easy is it to find a good group/guild to play with when you are online?2. Will it be somewhat easy to figure out how to play PvP or is there a really steep learning curve?3. Is it somewhat easy to find/obtain good gear for guild things or does it take hours of grinding? What I am really trying to avoid here is an experience where I need to go mining forever or something I like action of the FPS genre but I just want something to feel a little bit more wholesome if that makes sense. Thanks in advance for your help!Getting tired of FPS, Guild Wars?
if I were you, which I'm in a similar situation, I am holding off and waiting for hellgate london, it looks like it could combine the cool leveling, skills building and community of a mmo with the action of a first/third person shooter. I've played guild wars but didn't get hooked.Getting tired of FPS, Guild Wars?
I liked Guild Wars a lot

1. It depends which one you get, finding a group for the original one may prove to be difficult but Nightfall shouldn't be hard at all
2. PvP is very easy, when you do guild vs guild battles there is a bit to learn but you'll get the hang of it
3. It depends on your skill, you don't just grind but you have to know where to get the items to buy armor and the money, I got mine without doing a lot of grinding. It's definately easier to get armor in WoW though in my opinion.

PVP in guild wars is very deep imo.. Not only does ire require team work and the skill of the user.. But it depends highly on your chracter build, your class and what your team is made up of.
wow thanks for the replies guys, so from what I've been reading here Nightfall might be a better buy for me than Prophecies to start out with?

and u need to know the nature of each skills of ur profession...different skill have different effect and usage so learn them well and make a good combination of skills, itwill make ur pvp more effective,.....
its easy to find a guild there are tons of them almost everyone is in one. Finding a good guild that has active friendly players can be a little more difficult.PvP inst to hard to get into, but be warned if you dont have good group toull prolly get owned when first startingSome items are easier to get than others. It depends what your trying to get. If your just soing PVP then all you need to buy is wep upgrades.

Faction and Nightfall are easier and faster in the begining especially to level in pve and Proph is seem much slower in comparison.
1. relatively easy, organising enough to be online at one time to play gvg or pvp is another thing. More people in my guild liked sp so I just ran through the sp lots which was fun anyay2. PvP learning curve is infinite, set combos work, then don't work, work for some teams, get you slaugtered for others. Some skill but most of the work is just getting a good team setup with good combos3. Guild wars isn't about gear, you can buy the best stuff for cheap because it's all about the pvp experience. the campaign is disguised as a standard level up gear up rpg but it's not.
thanks again guys, I think I might just get the original because my neigbor is willing to give me his CD so I don't have to buy it... will that work? Also, I'm really happy to hear that it's not item intensive and more about skill this might be what we've been looking for
