Noob needs help patching CoD2

I'm sitting here with a blank look on my face trying to figure out how to patch the thing. At the main web site, there is a list of patches, and I see one which helps it run on dual core computers, which I have (the computer, not the patch). However, that's not the newest patch. Right now I'm at 1.0. I want the dual core one, so if i get the newest one, 1.3, will that be included? If not, does it matter in which order i apply them? The dual core one was just a temporary patch, it is included in 1.3 You just need to download 1.3 and that's it.
