bumpOblivion automatically makes my graphics bad?
Honestly, I hated Oblivion. Wanna know why? 2 reasons. When I first got it I could barely run the game. It would run my computer to it's limits. As a matter of fact, the DAY after I started playing, I got serious artifacting on my screen and my computer wouldn't operate anymore. Turns out my PSU died, and I had to get a new one. Now, that's not to say the game did it, but it's very coincidental. Anyways, other than that, I hated the game after I upgraded anyways. I'm just not a fan of first-person games that are medieval like that. To answer your question, I think your computer is overheating. If you can't fix it, don't worry, it's a hit or miss kind of game anyways.
It also turns all my plants, trees and grass into 2D sprites or flat images that always rotate to face you whenever you move. Is there a setting which is making this happen?
They always do that, thats why they are able to put so many trees and plants without killing the framerate. I have no idea about your texture problem besides overheating.
hmmm...i leanin towards the overheating problem...just for the sake of it here is the picture...it should show the two differences...if not, heres the URLhttp://img510.imageshack.us/img510/6839/screenshot8qw0.gif
Yeah, I would definitely say its your psu or your graphics card is overheating for whatever reason.
Do you happen to be using one of those mods that changes settings on the fly to keep performance good? Cause that would cause what's happening. That just looks like you turned the settings down not overheating.
That's not normal at all.. Try running ATITool and scan for artifacts for 20 mins or so. Also check the temperature on your card (you can use RivaTuner for that) to make sure it isn't overheating.

And I personally have never found a setting in Rivatuner that will show the temps, any temps, while a game is running, for my nVidia GPUs. I would love to have the ATI Tray Tool's in- game, onscreen, GPU temp display, for nVidia cards, but it was my belief that both of those (ATI Tool and ATI Tray Tool) were exclusive to ATI's VPUs.
ATITool shows the temp' of any vid card with a sensor, and anyway Everest can help in that too.Rivatuner is there to make sure the fan is working in the right speed... and all sorts of other cool stuff I yet need to research.

I'll have to test ATI Tray Tool to see if it also deals with nVidia for me -- my 6800 GT seems to be relatively hot-running with NWN2 . .

You can use RivaTuner for that too.
Just go into hardware monitoring, right click on GPU/Core temperature and select setup.
New Information:I have a 360W PSU...my friend says that that could have caused it. ORMy card is an Asus 7600gt SILENTCOOL card.....so no fans....just one behemoth of a heat sink.I'll try out these tools and utilities and report back on temps...for now, im going to DOWNclock (i know...sad) my graphics card because I think my PSU isn't sufficient.
