You're probably better off waiting for Age of Conan or Warhammer Online.
I've always enjoyed the combat in ffxi but getting into parties was always a ****, but it could be better now.
Given your choices, I suggest FFXI. It's a different flavor from other MMORPG's, but it's also got what it takes to hook you for the long haul thanks to it's attention to detail and the job system. It's also pretty tough, which makes the rewards all the more rewarding when you get them.
EQ2 is worth checking out, even if it's similar to WoW and everything else out there. I've just found that it sucks less than the current MMO line up.

I'd suggest EQ2 as well. Definitely one of the best MMO's out there.
I`d suggest Lineage2. I see few people having any idea about it on these forums, but I`d been addicted for almost 3 years and I`d strongly recommend you to give it a try. At least graphically I`d say it`s the best out there: check it http://www.lineage2.com/pds/players.html
